Week of May 13-19, 2013
May is a month of interesting and challenging aspects, but then, does the cosmic dance ever end? Perhaps the most awe inspiring and challenging will be facing the May 20th exact Uranus - Pluto square, a potentially life-altering aspect which can transform or eliminate something in your life that needs changing, such as an activity, attitude, habit, goal or relationship. On a global level, expect some shake-ups in governments, financial markets and businesses. URANUS Mover and Shaker in impetuous Aries will have a face to face with "keep it as it is" PLUTO in conservative Capricorn, both planets at 11 degrees and 14 minutes in their respective signs (that is why it is called a perfect square!). Powerful transits like this accelerate a shift in consciousness toward unity, peace and understanding, but not before rattling some cages. For more on this powerful aspect and its effects, tune in next Monday.
Until then we got to move through a week of ...more squares (not the nicest of aspects, if I may say!) and a New Moon in Taurus eclipsing the Sun. LOOOOTS of lessons to learn...
TRANSITS this WEEK
The procession of planets out of Taurus and into GEMINI has begun, shifting our interests and approach to socializing, communication, negotiations and a more airy, lively, intellectual sense of being: Venus entered Chatty Gemini on the 9th, Mercury on the 15th, the Sun on the 20th and Mars on the 30th of May.
As for the "Bigger Boys" of the Heavens, just a reminder that PLUTO and SATURN will still play their major cards in our game of fate, but closer to the vest, so to speak as they each continue to retrograde until July 8 (Saturn ) and September 20th (Pluto). Pluto encourages healing old wounds, Saturn encourages a serious re-evaluation of goals and commitments. Phew! Talking about heavy!
The ECLIPSES
Two eclipses grace the cosmos this month: at the New Moon in Taurus on the 9th, which highlights security, beauty and the environment, and the Full Moon in Sagittarius on the 24th/25th, which energizes travel, spirituality and education. Eclipses often bring an unstable element that can unhinge your plans, so try to stay flexible if an unexpected curve appears in the road, so to speak.
MAIN ASPECTS of the Week
May 13: Venus square Neptune can cast a spell of illusion over relationships, especially for Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
May 15 – 30: Mercury in Gemini favors logical, factual or versatile ideas and discussions.
May 18: Mercury square Neptune inspires spiritual ideas but can cloud the facts, especially for Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
Prepare for next week`s stellar shenanighans when the Sun moves into Gemini on the 20th until June 21, when the focus will switch to education, learning, travel and communications.
And let`s not forget the May 24/25 Full Moon eclipse in Sagittarius , squaring and energizing spiritual Neptune. We will talk about this next Monday.
