The Week of July 1-6, 2013
Bonjour Monday and Happy Canada Day!
We will need all the patriotic enthusiasm we Canadians are known for to soldier through this beginning of July. Weather is clement, spirits are high here in our nation's capital and all is well under the sun...or is it?
Last week has seen big transits happening: Jupiter entered Cancer for a year long sojourn emphasizing our home in the heart and on earth, the Sun joined a stellium of planets in Cancer, Venus moved into Leo and Mercury is now displaying one of its infamous retrograde motions for the coming three weeks.
This week and month, start with a few little glitches in the works. The Moon in fiery Aries just squared retrograde Mercury in Cancer last night, and started a long lunar void uncertainty zone that will last until 2:44PM PDT/5:55 PM EST today. As I always advise, a void-of-course Moon cycle is not the best time to start anything new but perfect for finishing old business on a high note.
As if that was not enough to slow down our tempo, we will also need to contend with a caustic square from Venus in social Leo to task-master, "all work no fun" Saturn in Scorpio (10:04AM PDT/1:04 PM EST)), the annual opposition between the Sun and underworld-ruling Pluto (5:07PM PDT/8:07PM EST), and Venus forming an off-kilter, 150-degree tie to often illusory Neptune (5:13PM PDT/8:13 PM EST). You will want to run for the hills or at least get under covers, no, not for an intimate tryst, but to escape the wicked world out there. ALL matters, including love and money are slippery to put it mildly, so, put on your best neutral attitude towards everybody and everything. Tomorrow is another day!
We might get help late afternoon, when, after that loooong void-of-course, the Moon slips into earthy, practical Taurus, semi-sextile Jupiter (good aspect but maybe not powerful enough to offset the barrage) Arts, crafts, hobbies, good food, sensual scents, beautiful surroundings, gardening and communing with Mother Nature are reinforced now that the lunar orb is gracing the second sign of the zodiac for the next 2+ days.
Then, on July 2, the Cancer Sun moves into opposition with Pluto. Normally, this transit would require grit, determination and perseverance to push through such a tough spot. Save your breath because only two days later on July 4, the Sun squares off against Uranus in Aries, thus forming the dreaded T-square in Cardinal signs, an aspect with consequences beyond this entire month. Since Uranus established residence for another...generation into Aries, things have gone from tense to....explosive for Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) and it is evident that this cosmic combination pushing and pulling everyone in opposite directions can be confusing and nerve racking. The point is simple...you either put up with it or get out of it....whatever "it" is.
All these aspects are meant to try our resolve, patience in some cases, courage to change the rules of the game in other cases but remember, there is no "good" or "bad" aspect, there are only aspects that make you think, act, change and follow your destiny....whether you are ready or not:) You are ultimately the master of your destiny. The stars do not cause things to happen, it is you who (with a gentle nudge from the universe:) has to make them happen. Tricky thing but doable. Ask the most successful people.
Going through this summer ain't going to be a walk in the meadow, especially with the emotional roller coaster of a stellium of planets in Cancer BUT look for a Grand Trine in Water signs (benefitting Water and Earth signs) for things to harmoniously come together, a passionate transit of Venus through Leo for love to deepen, and two (not one) awareness enhancing Full Moons in Aquarius (end of July and August). Depending on where exactly in your charts these transits are taking place, you will certainly see changes, advancement, some setbacks. Life will be anything but boring:)
The most you can do is strengthen your state of mind and do your best to be the master of your destiny. Star power is always behind you even when it seems it comes right at you.
Next week we will talk about the major transits this month and their effect on each sign. Hang in there, and remember: if it sounds terrible and tastes terrible, there is always a choice:) I know, it sounds so cryptic but you know my wacky sense of humor by now
