Making History- The Uranus Square to Pluto in 2011-2016
See how this slow moving aspect has made history before and what analogy best serves us now to understand this transit in the years to come

Uranus Square Pluto 2011-2016

Now here is the story about the long, slow moving Uranus to Pluto Square, which started moving into position in August  2011 and will last almost until 2016.
Together, Uranus and Pluto are a combustible mix – explosive with the Electro (Uranus) Magnetic (Pluto)  pull of energies acting and reacting to each other with explosive potential any time.

Uranus is in Aries. Aries is about new beginnings, discovery, adventure, trailblazing, leadership, war, activism, anarchy and autocracy.  Here is the perfect recipe for extremism, uproar and turmoil. The unrest seeps into everything with breakthroughs toward new developments, leaving behind stagnating structures. Uranus rules technology and in Aries we will see rapid advances and ideas put into execution with the action oriented principles of Aries, getting things started and moving forward.  Pluto in Capricorn steers the invention ship off through structure and control, both in good measure, which creates a climate of innovation.  With Pluto ruling mutual funds, shared resources and investments and Uranus volatility, we can expect some major shake up on the international markets.

Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) rules revolution, originality, liberation, individuality, independence, restlessness, instability, the bizarre, the unconventional, the weird, the oddball off the wall, genius, brilliant ideas, unpredictable and unexpected turns, excitement, electricity, sparks,  thunder,  lightening, communities, groups, humanitarianism.  Uranus also rules social groups, friendships and social media.  New unique and unusual ideas will pop-up from the most unexpected places. Friendships will step over geographical boundaries due to the exponential growth of social media which has opened up doors and expanded our horizons, gathering us globally in the spirit of the Age of Aquarius. Uranus is the zeitgeist which does not promise stability but guarantees innovation.

Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) rules transformation, the underworld, dark hidden matters, fear, phobias, survival, power struggles, deep intimacy, insurance, investments, inheritance, taxes, corporate take overs, big business, bankruptcy, degeneration and regeneration and permanent change.  Pluto demands and forces "deep root extraction" as someone said, drilling out any decay.  Pluto demolishes and removes debris, digging deeper into your psyche in a once in a lifetime ” journey to the center of your mind”, your true purpose or inner core realization or truth.

HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF

Historically, there have consistently been extreme events and activity during Uranus Pluto transits. The last time Uranus met Pluto was in the mid 60’s as a conjunction and in the early 1930’s as a square during the Great Depression around the time of the Glass Steagall act in 1933. Different outcomes...same immensely transformative, history marking events. History does in fact repeat itself in resembling themes.

Uranus to Pluto transits/aspects, are major milestones. Uranus-Pluto cycles are slow moving and we experience only a few in a century. Every revolution from the English to the French to the European and Russian to the American has had its day and mostly during Uranus Pluto aspects. The Middle East is due for their revolution and it’s clearly in an uprising with an escalating domino effect.

The Full CYCLE of an Uranus Pluto sojourn through the Universe contains (like any cycle) a harmonious period of conjunction, followed by a tense but active square, a confrontational (obviously) opposition and so on. This cycle lasts centuries.
In the case of Uranus and Pluto, the critical periods around oppositions are easy to remember: the French Revolution  and the turn of the century Russian revolution, marking the emergence of Communism are just two examples of this opposition. They remain pivotal moments in world history.  Squares are usually the momentum point through a cycle (as is happening now).
On the other side of the celestial coin, a harmonious conjunction period between these two major celestial bodies, marked exceptionally prosperous and innovative periods in history, such as the beginning of the Elizabethan “Golden Age” and the Renaissance.  The Uranus Pluto conjunction around the Elizabethan era, the time of Shakespeare and the English Renaissance late 1500 to early 1600 show a strong resemblance to the 1960’s anti-establishment movement of artistry, hippie bohemian culture.
Recognize the key words and patterns? Demolish the old, let the light of reason destroy the outdated structures of the world and the mind of men, and change the world forever.

If we think about it, all the major moments in world history happened during a Uranus to Pluto aspect of some kind. Makes you think doesn't it?

What is ahead for us with Uranus squaring Pluto this time is really a wild card, especially during the much talked about May 26th Full Moon Eclipsed in Sagittarius.  Whether its effect hits us up close and personal, or collectively at a global level, the impact will be quite...visible.
I warned you in my article on the controversy surrounding the "end of the world" that we are living extraordinary times. I don't know about you but I feel blessed to witness history in the making.
That is it for this week, I hope I gave you more food for thought because you too are part of this history in the making.
